Apr. 04, 09      Birmingham Asian Cultures and Food Festival
                Many cultures from China, India, Japan, and
                        Korea were presented here today. Our very own
                        Teacher Master Li's Erhu class and Mr. Percy Wang's
                        Drum class also performed in the festival. Bravo!!

Jan. 31, 09      Chinese New Year Festival
                       Everyone had a wonderful time ringing in the New
                       Year at the Boutwell Auditorium. Thanks to all our
                       student and parent volunteers on making this a great

Jan. 04, 09     Congratulations to Jennifer Chu 朱潔寧 in Mrs. Lin's
                      張老師 class for scoring 750 on her SAT II test on
                      Nov. 2, 2008. Excellent job! We are proud of you.

Dec. 13, 08     The Year-End Celebration concludes each semester
                      with event and celebrates achievements accomplished
                      by students and teaching staff. Thank you to our
                      students on their performance in poems and skits.
                      Job well done.

Nov. 1, 08       Chinese New Years Festival Art Contest
                      Open to all students. This is a great opportunity to
                      submit your artwork to the Birmingham Chinese
                      Festival Association. This is to request the involvement
                      of local schools in encouraging students to
                      create Chinese themed artwork and enter the artwork
                      in competition with prizes for the top entrants. The
                      submitted artwork will be displayed prominently
                      throughout the 2009 Chinese New Years Festival
                      on January 31, 2009 at the Boutwell Auditorium.

Oct. 18, 08     BCS will host the Principal Cup Ping Pong Tournament
                      at BumperNets (next to Sears) in the Galleria Mall
                      Saturday at 10 AM-12 noon. Practice will start at
                      9:30 AM. We want to thank Coach Homer Brown for
                      donating the drinks, table time and ping pong paddles.

Oct. 11, 08      Representing Birmingham Chinese School, the
                      BEST Robotics Team #34 AIRBOT competed in the
                      UAB Blazer Hub in Birmingham, Alabama. Team
                      AIRBOT completed in all matches, received Best Pep
                      Band and the Participation Award Trophy. Congrat-
                      lations to our members Big Brain Kid K, Video Game kid
                      N, Swimmer Kid R, Baseball Hat Kid J, Ping Pong Kid S,
                      Daring D. and Dr. Percy Wang for an excellent job well
                      done. Also thanks to our sponsors, Top China Buffet in
                      Hoover, Tom and Janet Wang, and theThreatt family.
